High-frequency QPOs from black-hole binaries: where we stand and perspectives for LOFT

In the course of its long life, RXTE has provided us with a handful of detections of oscillations above 30 Hz in
only a few sources. Only part of those are double peaks, not always detected at the same time. This very
important aspect of black-hole binaries, probably directly connected to GR effects, is where we know less
observationally. I will review the few available results and their interpretation in order to assess what the
capabilities of LOFT might yield.
