Sharon Morsink (U. Alberta) - Neutron Star Equation of State Constraints from X-ray Pulse Profile Models The observation of pulsed X-ray emission originating from the surfaces of rapidly rotating neutron stars provides an excellent opportunity to study the properties of neutron stars and to constrain the equation of state of supernuclear density matter. I will review the basic principles behind this method, show its application to accreting ms X-ray pulsars observed with RXTE, and discuss the exciting possibilities that observations with LOFT will provide.
