Marina Romanova (Cornell University, United States) Global simulations of accretion onto weakly magnetized neutron stars: variability and strong gravity We show the results of new global 3D simulations of disc accretion onto a weakly magnetized neutron star. We analyze different frequencies, including possible very high-frequency QPOs excited around stars of different masses, and discuss the applicability of these results to the measure of NS masses through observations with large effective-area satellites like LOFT
