Elena Rossi (Leiden) - Gamma Ray Bursts and tidal disruption events For explosive high energy events, X-ray timing is crucial. Gamma ray bursts and tidal disruption events are two such examples, which seem to share a common phenomenology at high energies. In this talk, I will review the X-ray flashes that accompany these two phenomena: from supernova light-curves following the shock-breakout, through GRB afterglows to disruption of stars and planetary objects by supermassive black holes.
