Stefan Wagner (LSW Heidelberg, Germany) Connecting X-ray and VHE gamma-ray timing Many nonthermal X-ray sources are potential sources of high-energy gamma-rays. Current and future gamma-ray facilities provide excellent timing capabilities . These involve studies with excellent timing precision (pulsars), rapid variability in individual outbursts with substructure on short time-scales (GRBs, Blazars) as well as secular variation on top of periodic signals (Binaries). Many of the scientific questions to be addressed with LOFT may potentially be addressed with gamma-ray facilities as well. This presentation will discuss the benefits expected from mutual timing studies in the X-ray band with LOFT and current/future gamma-ray facilities.
